Arvo Part in Leipzig

A kind of symbolic feeling: here in 1989 in the Nicolaikirche started the protests wich leaded to the fall of Die Mauer. Today we heard and saw Arvo Part's Te Deum. In this church. It was more than overwhelming... The coir, the violists, chello, the bass...

Dresden

Maja in Ustrzyki Dolne already told us: 'you'll like Wroclaw more than Krakau'. I think she's right. I noticed buildings (ex Soviet) and they seemed to be snatched out of my older paintings. All that windows, the rhytm!

This is the market. We feel pity about the rain...

Auschwitz

After a warm en intense stay in Ustrzyki Dolne today a cold (9 degrees) windy and rainy day somewhere else. On the map it's called Oswiecim. The history tells me the most terrible things and my eyes see the truth that happened. No pictures, no drawings today. Only unbelief. About Auschwitz/Birkenau. I thougt I knew. I thought I listened to my teachers. I thought I understood the books, Anne Frank, you know.. Nobody knows.
